Advertising feature. Sun, sea and sand are many people’s many criteria when booking their next holiday and they want to have an enjoyable holiday without it breaking the bank. People are searching high and low for a good deal in these tough economic times and are looking to save money when booking a week in paradise. European holidays remain as popular as ever and within a couple of hours after a short flight you can find yourself in a completely different culture and climate.

When it comes to saving money on holidays, hotel deals are a great way to save money on accommodation and still spend the night in comfort. Good value accommodation can be acquired as part of a package deal to the destination of your choice. A package holiday to a European destination that includes cheap flights and cheap accommodation is many people’s ideal scenario, and a week holiday is the perfect length of time to get away from everyday stresses and worries.

Cheap hotels are available right across Europe and the Algrave region of Portugal is one holiday destination geared towards tourists and offers plenty of deals. The southernmost tip of Portugal, the Algarve is highly popular tourist destination that offers visitors a warm climate with plenty of sunshine and a stunning coastline where tourists can enjoy the sandy beaches and clear blue oceans.

The Algarve region has quite an African feel to it despite being in Europe, because the area was controlled by Arabs for centuries and is located not too far away from the continent of Africa. This has a major influence on the culture of the Algarve, with the Moors bringing Azulejos with tiles on houses painted with intricate detail as a result, and the lush garden landscapes that they laid still create a green backdrop for the area today.

The coastal landscapes along the Algarve vary enormously. The Rock Algarve strip in the west is dominated by cliffs with secluded bays, whilst the easterly half of the region has sandy beaches that stretch for miles and this area is thus known as Sand Algarve and is the most popular and in turn has busy tourist areas.

The Algarve is particularly popular amongst British tourists and they often seek a hotel deal that includes access to one of the local golf courses, something which the Algarve has in abundance. The Clube Avor Golf apartments near the Quinta Nova complex are an example of how some accommodation is designed purely for golfing holidays. The good weather makes a round of golf an ideal pursuit on a sunny afternoon and can be enjoyed throughout the year, and similarly there is plenty of countryside for walkers to explore along the various trails.

The Algarve ticks all the boxes in terms of tourists who are after sun, sea and sand, and the resort offers a different break to that found in most of Europe. The package deals that can be bought mean millions of tourists descend on the sun-drenched region of Portugal every year, and a good value holiday in the Algarve is many people’s idea of paradise.
