A Longtown woman has launched a new dog grooming business.
Michelle Barnes has started the service from her home at Blackbank, near Longtown.
She has fitted out her former dining room as a canine pampering studio and hopes her efforts will lead to success.
Called Woofly Pawfect, her business offers full grooming services for every size and type of dog.
Originally from York, she moved to France in 2004 with her husband and three children to run a llama trekking business.
After a stint in South Africa, the family moved to Longtown two-and-a-half years ago.
Michelle said: “I have always loved dogs and dog grooming is something I have always been interested in.
“Now the kids are older, I’ve got the time to dedicate myself to the business. I know the economy isn’t great at the moment, but people still like to look after their pets – even above themselves sometimes.”
Michelle offers a free delivery service in the Longtown area.
She has a level three diploma in dog grooming and completed a work placement with another dog groomer.
