Aspatria's Brian Atkinson produced the best pot leeks in the town show’s for 47 years, according to secretary Ernie Ridley.
Mr Atkinson’s monster veg was deemed best in show by judges at the weekend’s annual Aspatria Leek and Onion Show and Mr Ridley paid tribute to the quality of his leeks.
He said: “Brian produced some incredible leeks for the show. They are without question the best we have seen at the show.”
It was also a great weekend for Aspatria’s George Graham, who won four categories including three carrots long.
Mr Ridley said: “George had a great weekend. His vegetables were of the highest quality but then so were all the efforts on display.
“A lot of work has gone into making this show a huge success.
“I would say it was the best show for the last 10 years.
“The quality and quantity of entries was exceptional with growers coming from many parts of the country as well as the county. We are one of only a few vegetable shows left in the region.”
